The Nieuw Amsterdam has two primary restaurants (included with your cruise fare), four specialty restaurants (at additional cost) plus a spot for poolside burgers and hot dogs, a pizza parlor, and 24-hour Room Service (all at no additional cost).

Choose an option below to get more information on each of the Nieuw Amsterdam's restaurants including photos and menus.

Principal Restaurants

The Dining Room (aft Deck 2 - Lower Promenade Deck and Deck 3 - Promenade Deck) serves Breakfast and Dinner (every day) and Lunch (most days) and is where we will gather together for dinner many evenings. Meals in The Dining Room are included with your cruise fare. To see hours, photos, and menus, click the button.

The Lido Market (midships Deck 9 - Lido Deck) serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner every day in a buffet format. Not a typical cafeteria buffet line, the Lido Market offers multiple stations for salads, a carving board station, international fare, breads and sandwiches, desserts, and more. And, unlike most buffets, all the food is plated by the staff and handed to you. To see hours, photos, and menus, click the button.

Specialty Restaurants

The Pinnacle Grill (midships port side Deck 2 - Lower Promenade Deck), Holland America's signature specialty restaurant, is an upscale steakhouse and comes with a supplemental charge. In addition to steaks, it also serves seafood (and even multiple vegetarian starters and entrees). The atmosphere is elegant and the food served is excellent. Canaletto (midships port side Deck 9 - Lido Deck) serves traditional Italian cuisine for a supplemental charge. It offers a variety of small plates, pastas, and entrees well-designed for sharing. The surcharge for Canaletto is lower than the other specialty restaurants. To see hours, photos, and the menu, click the button.

Tamarind (midships starboard side Deck 11 - Observation Deck - only accessible via the midships elevators) offers wonderful pan-Asian cuisine at an additional charge. Blending flavors from China, Japan and Southeast Asia, it shares space with Morimoto by Sea and the Tamarind Bar. Of the specialty restaurants, it is by far Lee's favorite. Morimoto by Sea (midships port side Deck 11 - Observation Deck - only accessible via aft elevators) offers fresh seafood and culinary creativity with a Japanese-inspired menu for an additional charge, featuring expertly prepared sushi, vibrant seafood entrees, and exclusive beverages in a stylish, sophisticated setting.

Other Dining Options

The Dive In (midships starboard side Deck 9 - Lido Deck) is adjacent to the Lido Pool and serves great burgers (including a non-meat option), hot dogs (including bratwursts and a vegetarian hot dog), and fries (with the option of three different sauces) at no additional charge. New York Pizza (aft Deck 9 - Lido Deck) is near the Sea View Pool and serves a variety of made-to-order pizzas and deli salads at no additional cost. Like most pizzerias, you can select from pre-defined combination pizzas, or choose your own toppings. To see photos and the menu, click the button.

The Crow's Nest Café (forward starboard side Deck 11 - Observation Deck) (formerly known as the Exploration's Café) is in the center of the Crow's Nest. Like most cruise lines, Holland America offers 24-hour Room Service. Unlike most cruise lines, it's still free on Holland America.
